Step 1: Choose the Competition That Fits Your Skills

There are four major competitions during the Canadian window tint expo weekend. Each one is built around a different installation discipline.

Great Canadian Tint Battle: Sunday

The Great Canadian Tint Battle is the main event for professional automotive window tint installers.

Choose this competition if your daily work includes:

  • Automotive side-window tinting
  • Rear-window installations
  • Film shrinking
  • Precision cutting
  • Clean edge and gap finishing
  • High-volume automotive film installation

Competitors are evaluated on more than speed. Judging can include contamination control, film handling, edge consistency, installation defects, finishing quality, technique, cleanliness and time management.

This is the right choice for automotive tinters who want to test their production skills under pressure and compete for the title of Great Canadian Tint Champion 2027.

The Great Canadian Tint Battle takes place on Sunday.

Flat Glass Battle: Saturday PM

The Flat Glass Battle is designed for residential and commercial window film installers.

Choose this competition if your experience is primarily in:

  • Architectural window film
  • Commercial glass
  • Residential glass
  • Measuring and cutting film
  • Glass preparation
  • Water removal and finishing
  • Straight, consistent edge work

Flat glass installation requires a different approach from automotive tinting. Preparation, measurement, cutting accuracy, contamination control and edge consistency are all critical.

The Flat Glass Battle takes place on Saturday afternoon and gives architectural film professionals a dedicated platform to demonstrate their technical precision.

Canada vs. USA Cross Border Clash: Sunday PM

The Canada vs. USA Cross Border Clash is an international showdown for installers from both countries.

American installers are welcome and encouraged to register. You do not need to be Canadian to participate in the Canadian Tint Expo or represent Team USA.

This competition is ideal for professional installers who want to:

  • Represent their country
  • Compete against leading North American installers
  • Test their skills in equivalent working conditions
  • Build international industry recognition
  • Take part in a team-based competition environment

Challenges may include automotive side-window installation, film shrinking, rear-window work, precision cutting and finishing. Individual performances contribute to the overall country score.

The Canada vs. USA Cross Border Clash takes place on Sunday afternoon.

Wrap Battle: Saturday AM

The Wrap Battle is for vehicle wrappers who want to demonstrate clean, controlled and professional film installation.

Choose this competition if your work includes:

  • Vehicle wraps
  • Panel preparation
  • Film positioning
  • Stretch management
  • Corners and edges
  • Recesses and complex contours
  • Precision cutting and finishing

The Wrap Battle takes place on Saturday morning. Judges will look at preparation, material handling, positioning, wrinkles, corners, edges, finishing quality and the completed presentation, not just how quickly the panel is finished.

Step 2: Register Before the 50 Spots Are Gone

Competition registration is $349, and the early-bird offer saves you $100.

To register, visit the official competition registration page:

Register for the Canadian Tint Expo & Competition 2027

When you open the registration page:

  1. Review the available competition options.
  2. Select the competition that matches your installation discipline.
  3. Confirm your registration details.
  4. Complete payment.
  5. Save your confirmation email and order information.
  6. Watch for competitor briefing details and final event instructions.

Because there are only 50 competition spots total, do not assume additional spaces will be added later. The event is expecting more than 65 competitors, so demand is expected to exceed available competition capacity.

Competitors from the United States are encouraged to register. The event is built to bring together professionals from both sides of the border.

Step 3: Read the Official Competition Rules and Format

Before registering, or immediately after, review the official rules and format page:

Read the Official Competition Rules & Format

  • Work-area organization
  • Safety and professionalism

The official page also outlines qualifying rounds, championship rounds, penalties, disqualification conditions, tools and materials, judging principles and the mandatory competitor briefing.

Final technical rules, exact time limits, supplied materials and competition-specific requirements may be released closer to the event. Registered competitors should review all updates carefully before arriving in Niagara Falls.

Step 4: Plan Your Full Canadian Tint Expo Weekend

The Canadian Tint Expo is more than a window tint competition. Across the two-day event, attendees can expect:

  • Window tint, PPF, wrap and detailing brands
  • Live product demonstrations
